Paris, remember love

The unthinkable happens again. Terrorist attacks in the city of love. We all feel it, we all know what it means. If it can happen in Paris it can happen here. We not only feel for the people of Paris, but it also stirs up fear, making people feel insecure and threatened in their everyday life. It brings the war to our own backyard. There are hundreds of points and issues to stress on that solely, but I won’t go there – not today.

Today, we need to remember love.

It’s easy to turn to despair in times like these, and let the sadness, sorrow and anger take over your space. Since I’m on this negativity fast during November, I had something completely different on the top of my head.

As Martin Luther King jr said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

As I look at the newsfeed from Paris the devastation and horror is evident, but the amazing connection and the we-stand-togetherness that rise as an effect is amazingly beautiful to see. Let it not solely be about our friends in the west. Let it be for all people.

Now more than ever we need to remember love, and give it as much and as often as we possibly can, to everyone. EVERYONE, without an exception.
